About the role:As Coordinator City Planning, you are responsible for coordinating the activities of the strategic planning section in order to deliver long term future planning to the Maitland Local Government Area. Whilst ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a range of functions for the team, other duties include:

Promote and develop an understanding of urban development and environmental issues with the LGA
Day-to-day management of the strategic planning team
Formulate strategic planning policies, which respond to State Government policy, identified local needs and are innovative and practical
Analyse and respond to planning proposals and rezoning requests
Ensure best practice and deliverable strategic land use planning within the LGA, including developer contributions
Provide specialist advice, conduct and coordinate research and evaluate results of consultation as required to support the activities of the team

The position will also involve keeping abreast of changing legislation, regulation, trends and practices that relate to the completion of assigned projects.
 
About you:To be our Coordinator City Planning, you will have degree level qualifications in Planning (or related discipline), and extensive experience in Strategic Planning. You will have experience in and a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop staff in the execution of work targets. In addition to this, you will have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to problem solve and negotiate outcomes. With a high commitment to professional and expeditious service, you will take a continuous improvement approach to your role with a specific focus on leveraging digital technology to make things easy and ensure an exceptional customer experience for all Council stakeholders. 
 
Benefits:This role attracts a salary from $112,698 up to $125,095 per year + 9.5% p.a. super based on your demonstrated skills and experience. A leaseback Council vehicle will also be provided to the successful applicant.
