Currently deployed on over 150 Australian and US warships, Nulka is a rocket-propelled, expendable, offboard, active decoy designed to ‘seduce modern anti-ship missiles away from their targets. 

The Nulka Program is a complex portfolio of projects covering the full product lifecycle Development, through Acquisition and into Sustainment, all phases of the lifecycle have production requirements. So apply your talent where it counts as the Production Manager on a fixed term 12 month contract within our Battlespace Integrated Solutions team based out of Richmond.

In more specific terms you will:

  • Work closely with our production partners (internal or external) to ensure they are accountable for their schedule, procurement and supply chain strategies to deliver a Technical Data Pack that is compliant and approved by the relevant technical authorities.

  • Ensure production is delivered to cost, quality schedule, including determination of internal or external production partners

  • Make sure the technical support aspects are managed in order to ensure the supply chain remains robust and viable, including when to push work through external partners to maintain capability.

  • Lead change control boards and manage the change process required through any aspect of production (including procurement) receive appropriate sign-off as required

  • Report production progress, risks, issues and concerns to the Operations Manager and Project Managers.

  • Develop and maintain an integrated production plan and workload forecast for project products, in collaboration with the Operations Manager Project Managers and other stakeholders.

 As an ideal applicant you will have:

  • Previous production engineering experience in a complex global manufacturing environment. 

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills in order to work in a strong customer orientated environment with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to manage quality output, risk and opportunities

  • An ability  to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management

  • Tertiary qualification within an engineering discipline will be highly regarded



Due to the nature of this role a defence security clearance is required, applicants must be Australian citizens and have as a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 defence security clearance.
