**Better starts and ends with the customer**
In this role of Business Development Manager you will liaise with business prospects on behalf of Western Union to attract and maintain new clients. You will influence everyone from the owner of a start-up to the FD or CEO of a large, established corporate. You may initially consult with them on their currency requirements, risk profile and payment solutions and progress toward securing sustainable, profitable trading relationships. Your key responsibility will include initial prospecting activities like identifying and engaging new prospects to Western Union Business Solutions through proactive prospecting activities, attending self-identified and company supported industry and geographical networking events, independently handling leads through the sales process, client set up and early transactions. Meeting specific targets at each stage. You will ensure that prospecting is tailored to both geographical allocation and/or industry specialization and will include targeted regional areas. In this role you are expected to maintain and develop knowledge across specific industries or regions as a subject matter expert. You will be working across internal teams to provide tailored solutions for clients and articulate how our products and services can best solve the challenges they face. You will also be maintaining understanding of the FX market, compliance and legislative requirements and broader business/economic landscape to enhance your ability to meet and anticipate client requirements. You will be utilising internal relationship teams and relevant management to close sales opportunities. We also expect you to identify and develop key referral partnerships/ circle of influence relationships with associated organisations, partners and advisors of our prospective clients.
To be successful in this role you must have demonstrated success in new business sales in a fast-paced environment, consistently achieving targets and deadlines. You will come with basic understanding of consultative sales principles, and adept at executive corporate level negotiations and building long-term client relationships. You will be Independent self-starter with a tenacious approach to new business acquisition and you will also have ability to work autonomously in developing new business growth whilst liaising with internal account managers to effectively manage the continuity of our customer relationships. You will have established networks in regional markets, industry verticals and associated customer influencers including consultants, accountants etc. You will be highly self-motivated and confident, with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition. You will be fluent in English and will have excellent communication/presentation skills across all media, as well as ability to use technology (e.g., MS Office, web conferencing, search engines, Reuters, reporting tools and sales automation platforms such as Salesforce). You will be financially astute with knowledge of business needs/concerns, as well as the commercial impact of global news and events. Your experience in FX or Financial Services before is desirable but not essential. You will bring to the table experience in business to business and solutions sales. You will come with degree level or above preferred or significant professional experience.
