Reporting to the Contractor Auditing Supervisor, this role will be based in Perth with occasional site and international travel.

Chevron’s Corporate Audit organization helps Chevrons businesses and functions enhance and protect value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, cost recovery and insight.











Responsibilities for the Contractor Auditor position may include, but are not limited to:

+ Employ data analytics to perform contractor risk assessments to assist in identifying audit candidates.

+ Conduct Audits of key contractors supporting Upstream, Midstream and Downstream & Chemicals businesses globally with a focus on contract compliance, billing accuracy and efficiency of spend.

+ Lead co-sourced and/or outsourced auditor teams on a variety of contractor audits throughout the year, analyzing contractor compliance and related Chevron internal controls to make procedural recommendations and monetary claims for recovery.

+ Act as Chevron’s primary representative to conduct meetings w/ contractors to explain the audit process, resolve audit findings and issues, and reach agreement with the facts presented in the audit report.

+ Compile information and write audit reports for covered sections in professional format, requiring minimal revision.

+ Coordinate with other Chevron Business Units on strategies to resolve audit findings and lead efforts to recover expense claims.

+ Propose recommendations for contract language improvements which will mitigate exposures and provide future clarity on contractual provisions.

+ Lead/Participate in a variety of other audit activities including assurance audits, Advisory/Consultation engagements, SOX testing, Non-Operated Joint Venture audits, special projects, and investigations.

+ Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices.















Key skills and experience required:

+ 3+ years of relevant professional experience in Finance/Accounting

+ Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

+ Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results

+ Demonstrated commitment to Chevron’s values of integrity, partnership and trust and achieving an incident and injury free environment















Key skills and experience preferred:

+ Corporate Finance/Accounting, Public Accounting, Energy Industry or Advisory experience

+ Knowledge of contracting and procurement processes, systems and controls, business value drivers and key financial risks

+ Experience in leveraging emerging technologies to enhance business processes

+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or has Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree

+ Analytical - Critical thinker with ability to quickly assimilate new information, understand key business processes, apply a risk-based mindset and approach, and develop and execute a thoughtful audit response.

+ Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to document work logically and produce formal reporting of results and provide clear, persuasive recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

+ Leadership/Initiative - Effective at distilling organizational objectives into specific strategies or plans to achieve desired results. Demonstrated persistence in driving progress on key initiatives and consistently seeking to broaden the scope of role. Proactively drives continuous improvement and simplification.

+ Teamwork/Interpersonal - Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team environment, across geographic boundaries, and with a wide range of stakeholders.
