About the Team
ESI keeps Sydney moving by providing design, engineering, and assurance services to Sydney Trains and the TfNSW cluster. ESI Electrical Engineering are the technical leader responsible for ensuring electrical network safety in design and integrity. The team work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide technical expertise and assurance, acting as Sydney Trains’ interface with the Asset Management Branch and hold Sydney Trains’ Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) accreditation.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist Modelling to be a part of Engineering and System Integrity Electrical Engineering team within Sydney Trains. This position plays a key role in providing high level technical expertise and development of effective, timely, and evidence based technical solutions to engineering issues identified. They provide high level engineering advice and technical solutions consistent with current standards to a variety of internal and external interfaces in order to maximise the safety and reliability of relevant Sydney Trains asset classes throughout the asset lifecycle.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer Power Systems, the Technical Specialist Modelling manages the power system analysis and modelling of Sydney Train’s electrical networks (66kV, 33kV, 11kV and 1500v DC). This modelling is critical for the development of TfNSW’s Power Futures Initiative and Medium term Rail plan. The technical specialist oversees management and maintenance of electrical network models, simulation data, tools and processes. The role is required to manage resources (staff and other resources) to schedule and control the network power system analysis and modelling work to meet demand.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is RC7 ($143,555.00 - $157,945.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
