The Opportunity


Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking an experienced Senior Supplier Management Practitioner to support the contracting and procurement activities for campaigns, new business and program execution. This role can be worked from either our Brisbane, Adelaide, or Newcastle (RAAF Williamtown) location.


BDAs Supply Chain Management (SCM) Capability provides people, expertise, and process and tools to manage supply chain relationships, requirements, performance management and logistics for program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, SCM will develop integrated supply chain networks and solutions to meet the evolving need of our customers, both in Australia and internationally.


The SCM Capability is responsible for the following areas:




  • Strategic planning, governance and procurement analytics




  • Requirements planning and forecasting




  • Procurement, contracting and supplier performance management




  • Logistics and field service support




 


Responsibilities




  • Lead the contracting activities to support campaigns and programs including the development of complex contracting and supply chain strategies,  proposal analyses, develop negotiation strategies




  • Lead the supplier negotiation process, and prepare and execute negotiated documents




  • Advise stakeholders and act as a subject matter expert in contracting and procurement




  • Undertake process and subcontracts templates reviews and updates




  • Consult with business customers to resolve supplier performance issues

 The successful applicant will have:



  • Extensive knowledge of contractual and procurement requirements in a commercial environment

  • Legal qualification with strong drafting skills

  • Knowledge of ASDEFCON contracting is beneficial but not mandatory

  • Leadership experience in a strategic supply chain contracting environment

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in a field of relevance to procurement and contract management.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
