Lecturer (Level B) from $103,914 to $$122,947 p.a., plus 17% employer"s superannuation and annual leave loading
Senior Lecturer (Level C) from $121,953 – $140,246 p.a., plus 17% employer"s superannuation and annual leave loading
Appointment type: Full time continuing, available to start in 2021. Part time arrangements will be considered.

This is an exciting new role focusing on the development of expertise and excellence in teaching and teaching leadership, specifically in Developmental Psychology in the Undergraduate Program. This role will enhance the student experience through the delivery of outstanding teaching, focusing on pedagogic innovation, and governance and leadership of academic programmes. The role will contribute to teaching and learning committees, co-ordinate a core unit required for our APAC accredited undergraduate course offered both on campus and via OUA, chair an elective developmental unit in our accredited Honours Program, and drive new initiatives and opportunities in these areas within the department. Teaching a workshop in the Master of Professional Psychology will also be required. Supervision of research projects of students in our Honours and HDR program will also be a role requirement.
This role is required to demonstrate leadership in the design of assessment delivery across the undergraduate core units consistent with requirements by APAC. The role will include participation in the collation and submission of materials to APAC for accreditation rounds.
The level of appointment will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
About You
The successful candidate will have a PhD or Doctorate in Psychology or a related area. The candidate will have demonstrated experience developing and delivering training, as well as assessing students to achieve professional competence. You will have experience convening units and demonstrate leadership capability in your capacity to comprehend the broader strategic objectives, whilst recognising the contribution of each topic to the overall Program and the importance of satisfying external accreditation requirements.

Qualifications:
A PhD or Doctorate in Psychology or related area
For a Lecturer (Level B) appointment:
Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline of Developmental Psychology
Experience in unit co-ordination and delivering high quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, assessment, and large support staffing pools in large teaching units
Demonstrated innovation in pedagogy, teaching practice, and online learning and/or curriculum development of accessible units pertaining to Developmental Psychology
Evidence of successful delivery to diverse student cohorts at undergraduate level
Evidence of creating a superior student experience and student engagement
Demonstrated success in academic leadership in the delivery of units or courses
Proven communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff and students from all backgrounds and to represent the Department to external stakeholders and the general public
Awareness of the standards and delivery of accredited programs
Record of supervision of student research projects
For a Senior Lecturer (Level C) appointment:
Exceptional teaching skills (particularly in the discipline area of Developmental Psychology) including evidence of excellent student outcomes and reflective practice
Demonstrated academic knowledge in the discipline of Developmental Psychology with evidence of a commitment and capability to deliver high-quality learning and teaching, including curriculum design and delivery and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessments
Demonstrated innovation in pedagogy, teaching practice and/or curriculum development
Demonstrated academic leadership in the delivery of units or programs
Evidence of successful delivery to diverse student cohorts at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Evidence of creating a superior student experience and student engagement
Proven excellent communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff and students from all backgrounds and to represent the Department to external stakeholders and the general public
Evidence of active service and a considerable contribution through activities such as committees, peer mentoring, accreditation and program convening
Experience in the accreditation process
Demonstrated experience of research supervision from Honours to HDR candidates.
This position requires criminal record and qualifications checking.
Employment in this position is conditional upon holding a Working with Children Check Clearance.
