Salary Package: From $105,298 – $117,167p.a. (HEW Level 8), plus 13.25% employer"s superannuation.
Appointment Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed term contract
The RoleResearch Services are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Post Award Leader to join our team.
Reporting to the Manager, Post Award and Reporting, you will:
Manage, coach and set the direction for the Post Award team.
Manage progress, final and financial reporting requirements for the University’s research funding.
Manage the variation of funding agreements and project scope in relation to the University’s research funding.
Manage the transfer of research funding into or out of Macquarie University.
Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with relevant University staff to obtain the best grant and project management outcomes possible for the University’s research funding.
Design, develop and deliver training to researchers in relation to management of grant funding and research project management.
About YouYou will deliver strong leadership skills and experience in managing a small team to provide a high level of service. In this role, you will manage Post Award services for research projects and offer efficient skills in project and contract management.
You will deliver advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and internet. You will build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to work in collaboration and achieve shared goals.
You will deliver strong experience in working under pressure to meet tight deadlines in managing scarce resources and enjoy working in a fast-faced environment.
About UsThe Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) [DVCR] is responsible for the development and strategic enhancement of Macquarie University"s research, research training, and innovation profile as well as the creation, support and advancement of local, national and international research collaborations and partnerships.
Research Services is responsible for the management of research that takes place at Macquarie University or is conducted by University staff. This task is divided between four functional teams: Pre Award, Post Award and Reporting, Ethics and Integrity and Research Contracts and Policy.

Degree or equivalent experience in research management or related field.
Understanding of the Australian HE environment.
Skill in coordinating complex processes
Knowledge of ARC and NHMRC funding schemes
Skill in understanding and interpreting contractual requirements.
Skill in interpreting funding guidelines
Working in a university research management environment
Experience in managing financial data and in interacting with financial systems and
Experience using research management systems
