Applications are invited for appointment to this position, which will be offered on a full-time fixed-term basis of 3 years, commencing early 2012.
The School of Economics and Finance employs several natural resource and environmental economists who are involved in a number of large, collaborative research projects. One of these is the National Environmental Research Program (NERP) Marine Biodiversity Hub, an Australian Government initiative supporting evidence-based decision making. This project aims to provide economic understanding and support for the management and conservation of Australia’s marine biodiversity through research on a range of topics including the use of offsets and economic incentives in the context of marine conservation, and marine biodiversity valuation.
Applicants must have a PhD in Economics, and be able to demonstrate their ability to conduct high quality applied economic research, leading to scholarly publication. The successful applicant will be required to communicate research results, including the preparation of reports and research summaries for stakeholders, as well as publications in high quality scholarly journals. They will be required to work effectively with project team members including those located at the University of Western Australia and at CSIRO.
The appointment will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $107,211 per annum (comprising salary within the range $77,715 - $91,633 plus 17% superannuation, with the option of an additional 3% salary loading in exchange for 14% instead of 17% superannuation).
