A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Specialist to join our Materials & Logistics team in Mascot.
This position is part of the spares operations team in Logistics which is responsible for supporting the National Field Operations teams by ensuring appropriate sparing strategies are maintained across our entire telecommunications network. This team fills Optus ambitions in providing a high level of customer experience, network performance and revenue protection across all lines of business.
The role is expected to function with a high level of autonomy and contribute to the execution of a 3yr strategic plan that develops and builds a world"s best Telco supply chain, regionalises the supply chain across the SingTel group of companies and then finally implements a "Just In Time" vendor supply business model. Functions within this role include: Develop and implement new business processes using the lean and/or six sigma methodology for spares material planning, identification of install base, reduction of spares holdings relative to install base, spares life cycle management (from NTI to EOL), Annual Operating Planning and reporting, SAP transaction changes and creations.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Contributing to implementing a world"s best Telco supply chain
Contributing to implementing a "Just In Time" vendor supply business model
Building overall project timelines, which incorporate all project inter-dependencies, and managing the critical path.
To devise and Implement new paradigm of supply chain model
To increase the percentage of spares repairs meeting the vendor turnaround SLA
Development of process maps and procedures and business process improvement
Cross functional co-ordination, control, development and facilitation of key business governance requirements on behalf of the Manager and GM (e.g.: AOP planning, capital governance & approval papers)
Lead and provide Subject Matter Expertise for Lean & Six Sigma business improvement projects for Logistics
To reduce the percentage of faults not restored within KPI due to spares in the wrong location
Integration of new products and technologies into business as usual processes
To meet or reduce actual expenditure versus CC1212 budget
To reduce spares holdings by $40 Million
The key challenges of this role will be to understand the Optus network install base so the right level of spares is achieved in order to support the Optus network and provide the company with the right customer experience. Further improving sparing levels and customer experience by regionalising the supply chain across the SingTel group and implementing a "Just In Time" supply chain model with all group suppliers and Engaging and Influencing FOPs, SAP analysts and Engineering groups in order to develop process and reports in order to improve business performance. You will also be required to work with service assurance and operations team to improve sparing strategies processes and balancing demand vs. capacity - effectively managing the balance between competing business priorities within the limits of release and resource capacity/availability.
To achieve success in the role you will possess the following:
Formal qualifications in a relevant technical area plus relevant experience
Master degree in Business and/or Logistics
Team leader or Management experience, min 2 year.
Minimum Green Belt certification, Lean and/or Six Sigma knowledge,
Project Management experience, minimum 3 years
Strong business development capability with an innovative and entrepreneurial mind set
Demonstrated high level contract negotiation
Exceptional ability to communicate effectively across a range of organisational levels
Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement policy changes to deliver business benefit
Demonstrated ability to manage complex supply chain environments
Working knowledge of SAP/CMS
Self motivated and ability to influence at all levels of the business.
Exceptional end to end supply chain management skills
Telecommunications network and external plant project management skills
Excellent administrative, coordinative and organisational skills
Background in Finance is Desirable, but not essential.
