We"re currently looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join the Earth Station Engineering team.
This position is responsible for the planning and integration of new equipment into the transmission systems within Optus earth stations. It will require an individual with experience of satellite systems, in particular RF and Network Management Platforms and an overall maturity to participate in various projects involving internal network activities as well as potential involvement with external customers associated with Optus satellite services.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
• Producing documentation for the implementation of earth station systems with a focus on RF and Network Management Platforms systems,
• The completion of work packages for assigned projects, including implementation, testing and commissioning and the integration of new equipment into the Network Management platforms,
• Contributing to the capacity management of Earth Station Network Management platforms.
• Maintenance of network integrity and standards whilst implementing customised solutions.
• Providing support for Satellite Operations by supporting them with complex technical problems associated with the Network Management platforms.
• Professional working relationships with internal Optus groups.
• Fostering a strong team with high morale and a business and customer focus.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of highly skilled, motivated Engineering discipline with unique skills in a multi-functional group.
In order to meet these challenges & perform well in the role, the successful candidate will be required to have:
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Communications Engineering or equivalent experience,
Previous experience with satellite transmission, including Network Management systems, and/or RF and broadcast technologies. Experience with broad range of telecommunications technologies would be desirable.
An understanding of Networking and IP technologies; experience with scripting languages and SNMP.
Possess time management and co-ordination skills
Highly motivated and proactive with high achievement orientation,
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
