This position is Residential from Waihi only.
Please note - Experience in underground mining is preferred but not essential. The successful person however will demonstrate work experience in a heavily physical environment
Job Description
The role of Nipper is to provide assistance to all underground production and maintenance teams through safe, cost effective and professional practices;
Primarily assists jumbo operator who drills holes for the installation of rock bolts and mesh
Lifts mesh (large pieces) onto the boom for installation
Transfers rock bolts and plates (9 kg)
Installs rock bolts and plate onto boom
May assist with manually moving 8 kw fly pump into position if jumbo can"t access it
Lifts/pulls hydraulic hoses
May assist other persons if required i.e. "gopher"
