Our Murrin Murrin operation is a world class hydro metallurgical project with a multi-pit mine operation. About The Position
This role will encompass a bit of everything you have touched on in your career so far. The Project Geologist will ultimately assist the Senior Resource Geologist to develop and report resources (grade control and resource modelling/estimation) for geological and mine planning purposes along with exploration reports. As our Project Geologist you will also have the responsibility of reviewing existing geology data for incorporation into the resource estimates and assist in the generation of exploration and resource drill programs to upgrade resources. Other responsibilities include:
Manage all near mine-site exploration projects
Provide accurate interpretations of quantity and grade of ore and waste so as to meet mining and plant production requirements
Provide best estimates of exploration resources with the classification of these resources so as to aid in the definition of mining and plant production requirements
Do You Fit The Bill?
We are looking for someone with Tertiary education in Geological Sciences or equivalent. You will need to have a proven track record of using geological software to provide accurate and timely reports on resources/reserves as well as the following:
Excellent working knowledge of various estimation methodologies and geostatistical practices
Solid background in resource estimations with exposure to resource classification issues and the upgrading of the resources through minable reserves.
Prior knowledge of Ni laterites is preferred
Previous experience in exploration of VMS deposits is also preferred
Keenness or interest in data management and resource modelling
A person with strong sense to team work, self-motivation and natural leadership skills will naturally fit into our team.
