Xstrata Coal NSW operates Ravensworth Underground Mine, located approximately 23 kilometres from Singleton in the Hunter Valley area of NSW.
Reporting to the Environment and Community Coordinator, you will provide technical assistance relating to environment and community management for all facets of operations at the mine.
With a sound problem solving, decision making, project management and communication skills, you will have a good understanding of environmental legislation relevant to the mining industry as well as knowledge of the principles of environmental risk management and mitigation.
Formal tertiary qualifications in an environmental-related field combined with at least two years mining or related industry experience is required. You will also posses an excellent understanding of environmental management systems and practical implementation in addition to a good working knowledge of mining operations and its environmental impacts.
