We are currently working on two of the most innovative and advanced Naval Defence contracts in Australia- the Collins Class Submarine Through-Life Support Project and the Air Warfare Destroyer Program.
An opportunity for a suitably qualified Technical Officer has become available within our Mechanical Systems Department. Reporting to the Mechanical Systems Manager this role will be responsible for the provision of technical administration in the area of sourcing, collecting and assessing technical data for preparation/processing of technical documents for various departments within the Submarine Engineering Group. Technical support to assist in meeting Submarine Availability Schedules and acceptance of customer deliverables on first submission will also be undertaken by this role.
Other duties to be undertaken by this role will include:
Assisting with the system design of various mechanical systems (and components) including preparation of various engineering documents and calculations including various system design modifications of existing mechanical systems.
Participation in Design Team activities within the Design & Engineering Group as part of project or sustainment activity.
Assisting with development of mechanical documentation such as specifications, schematics, sketches, test procedures and engineering reports.
Assisting with analysis of defects and problems reported.
The successful applicant must possess tertiary qualifications in Engineering or equivalent Trade engineering experience in a relevant field of engineering or defence related projects. Experience with naval/marine mechanical systems would also be desirable.
Applicants must be eligible for Australian Department of Defence security clearance.
