We are currently working on two of the most innovative and advanced Naval Defence contracts in Australia- the Collins Class Submarine Through-Life Support Project and the Air Warfare Destroyer Program and are now seeking to appoint a number of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Technical Officers with an Electrical focus.
The ILS Technical Officer - Electrical will be responsible for undertaking data analysis and development of ILS documentation to support the operation and maintenance of the Air Warfare Destroyers (AWD). Analysis of Support System tasks, facilities requirement, development of Through Life Support strategies and other ILS activities in support of the Support System delivery schedule are also an important aspects of this role. The determination of the maintenance requirements, for the systems and equipment fitted to the AWD, and associated support facilities for the identified level of maintenance along with the development and validation of technical documentation are also essential tasks.
This role will suit an experienced Electrical/Electronic tradesperson who is looking to move out of the workshop and into a role where they can utilise their electrical/electronic knowledge and experience to analyse supplier data and prepare the support documentation for the operation and maintenance of the AWD.
To be successful in this role you must have a formal Trade Qualification in the Electrical or Electronic field. A thorough understanding of electrical /electronic engineering gained through service trade and post trade training or similar industry experience coupled with a good understanding of ILS documentation, maintenance analysis or spares assessment processes are also requirements of this role. Experience in Maintenance/Engineering support in a naval or other military or industrial field, a working knowledge of Logistic Engineering principals and experience in the use of defence Logistics Information Systems although not essential are also desirable for this role.
Applicants must be eligible for Australian Department of Defence security clearance.
