We are looking for Underground QA/ QC Technicians to join our Cadia East project team. You will report directly into and support the QA/ QC Supervisor in improving the quality assurance and quality control of mining activities within the Cadia East underground project.
To achieve this you will need to work closely with Mine Foremen and operators to ensure safe, quality development and other mining activities to required standards.
Your key responsibilities would include:
Ensure use of robust QA/ QC processes to monitor and feedback performance
Monitoring and providing feedback on development shotcrete, rock and cable bolts
Profile over/underbreak to ensure alignment with technical requirements
Undertake practical workplace inspections and ensure mine installations are to required technical standards for long term safe working conditions
Prepare weekly and monthly QA/ QC tracking reports from inspections and audits
Working with Mine Foremen and scheduling engineer to integrate quality improvement requirements into daily/ weekly plans
Assist with effective communication across all levels to ensure ongoing understanding and buy in to all QA/ QC requirements and improvement items
To be successful in this position you will possess the following key skills and attributes -
At least 2 years surface or underground mining experience in an operational or technical role
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) at all levels
Ability to make decisions and work independently
Organised, structured and high quality personal work practices
Qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology or Geotechnical would be advantageous
