Salary:– $47,390–$49,145 per annum.
Administrative and Clerical Employees Award, Level 5.


Register fixed-term casual for up to 12 months.


Location:–


Bellerive.










Salary:– The above per annum figures are based on full-time employment.  Casual employees will receive a 20% loading in lieu of leave entitlements, therefore the per hour rates are as below:-Operational Instructor Level I - $29.64 per hourOperational Instructor Level II - $30.74 per hour

Duties:– Through counselling, therapy and participation in wilderness activities, Wilderness Program Inc. enables young people at-risk to develop social skills and personal qualities required for living and working as mature citizens in an increasingly complex society.Major duties include:Assisting and supporting the Project Leader - Wilderness Program in the development, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of Wilderness Program personal development programs.Providing counselling through the mediums of kayaking, caving, climbing and abseiling, bush walking, group-based facilitation. In a joint effort with other team members, assisting with the planning and leading of wilderness programs.Assisting in the screening of participants within program objectives.Providing written feedback to participants and referral agencies in the form of a personal report.

Essential Requirements:– Remote Area First Aid certificate and current cardiac pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). A current motor vehicle licence. The Commissioner has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:1). Conviction check for: Crimes of violence, Sex related offences, Serious drug offences, Crimes involving dishonesty, Serious Traffic Offences. 2). Identification check and 3). Disciplinary action in previous employment check.

Desirable Requirements:– An appropriate tertiary qualification for work in the area of wilderness therapy and bush counselling or a thorough grounding in the concepts of adolescent development theories.Eligibility for membership of Professional Counselling Association (PCA).Ability to effect basic vehicle and equipment repairs whilst in the field.Qualifications in:Abseiling – Top Rope and Abseiling Instructors award (TRA), Basic Abseiling Instructor award (BAI) or equivalent documented work-based experience.Kayaking – White Water Kayak instructor award (WWK), Basic Skills Instructor award (BSI) or equivalent documented work-based experience.Navigation – Intermediate Land Navigation award (ILN).Caving – Horizontal cave guide qualifications.Planning – Risk/Crisis Management qualifications.
