Tunnel Surveyor - The North-South Bypass Tunnel (NSBT) is an exciting new infrastructure project to link Brisbane’s inner suburbs, and when complete will be the longest and most technically advanced tunnel in Australia. With construction scheduled for completion late 2009, this exciting project offers long-term security, stability, variety and exceptional career opportunities. You’ll work for the LBB JV, a joint venture of Australia’s biggest construction players - Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook and Bilfinger Berger. Reporting to the Lead Surveyor, the Tunnel Surveyor will provide support to the TBM & Road Headers surveying teams via · setup, maintenance and checking of Road Header/TBM Guidance System in accordance with project procedures · providing clear and concise set outs with sufficient survey marks · advising the Survey Manager/Lead Surveyor of any issues arising from the survey · determining quantities, where required, for the measurement of work · identifying, planning and using the best equipment and methods for each application · keeping accurate records of survey information in accordance with project instructions You will need to demonstrate exceptional managerial skill, well-developed written and oral communication abilities and detailed knowledge of industry best practice. In addition we require the successful candidate to contribute to the delivery of Project/s on time, within budget and quality standards. Experience within a Mid-Tier or Top-Tier Civil Contractor or Consultancy is a prerequisite for this position. Previous underground surveying experience will be highly regarded. This position is based in Brisbane.
