Site Engineers-Working Holiday Maker’s welcome - Brisbane’s first cross river tunnel is rapidly taking shape, with more than 1 km of tunnel excavated at Kangaroo Point and major excavation started at Bowen Hills. At this site, a $ 50 million, four storey, German Tunnel Boring machine named ‘Matilda’ has started carving out the rock under the exhibition grounds. Excavation on the North South Bypass Tunnel is ahead of the schedule and a second $ 50 million machine has started tunneling last month. This exciting project offers exceptional career opportunities. You’ll work for the LBB JV, a joint venture of Australia’s biggest construction players - Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook and Bilfinger Berger. The North South Bypass Tunnel Project is seeking experienced Site Engineers to manage and coordinate the surface & tunneling works for the project. Reporting to the Project Engineer, the applicant will be responsible for: Quality Assurance checks and Inspection Test Plans Creating work method statements and job safety analysis reports Liaising with subcontractors Ordering and scheduling materials and supplies Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports and progress reporting You will need to demonstrate managerial skills, well-developed written and oral communication abilities and detailed knowledge of industry best practice as well as a Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline. Previous experience within a Civil Contractor will be highly regarded. These positions are based in Brisbane.
