Cambridge University Press, a leader in ELT/ESL publishing, continues to exhibit dynamic growth. With the expansion of its New York team, there are exciting opportunities at our state-of-the-art offices in Tribeca.
The Press seeks Development Editors, whose primary focus will be to work with a team to develop materials for either the Adult Courses list, or the Grammar & Writing list. Additional responsibilities include liaising with authors, managing freelance editorial staff, working with Production, and researching the market, all while ensuring that projects stay on schedule.
For the Grammar & Writing position, candidates must have: experience editing educational textbooks; an MA in TESOL, applied linguistics, or a related field; and experience teaching ESL to students with academic goals. In-depth knowledge of the U.S. market is a plus.
For the Adult Courses position, candidates must have experience editing educational textbooks and an MA in TESOL or Applied Linguistics. In-depth knowledge of the Latin American market, as well as the Asian and/or other international markets, is a plus.
For both of these positions, candidates should also have strong organizational and communication skills, enthusiasm, flexibility, and team spirit.
