We have partnered with one of Australias largest manufacturers in heavy industry in the search for a Maintenance Superintendent, to become an integral part of the senior management team on site. Producing products for a cross section of industries such as construction, mining and agriculture, the business operates internationally with over two hundred sites nationally to compliment operations.
There are several major challenges to the role; your first major challenge will be to change the culture from a reactive approach to maintenance to instilling a systemised and planned maintenance system. You will need to focus on establishing controlled documentation systems supported by appropriate training. The implementation and on-going practice of a safe working environment.
In the role you will be responsible for a an annual R&M budget of approximately $12m and joint responsibility for an annual capital budget. This will incorporate planning and executing major plant shutdown operations, subsequently managing contractors whose numbers can fluctuate according to demand.
You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong manufacturing team environment, establishing targets and ensuring they are met within timeframes and budgets. With a lean culture across the business you will drive plant improvement initiatives and manage solution implementation.
As the successful applicant you will be an experienced Maintenance manager having a minimum of five years experience in a heavy manufacturing environment with relevant people and budgetary responsibilities. It would be desirable that you have worked with SAP in the past and have an understanding of legislative safety requirements.
