Arrow Energy is seeking a Native Title and Cultural Heritage Coordinator to work from their Head Office in Brisbane.
 
Reporting to the Advisor - Land, Native Title & Cultural Heritage, the primary function of this role will be to assist in the management and coordination of all matters and relationships with respect to native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage.
 
Key duties of the role include:
 

Assisting in undertaking an "audit" of the current status of agreements and the working relationships that exist between Arrow and all relevant native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage parties;
Assisting in developing strategies to address native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage issues within Arrow"s corporate structure and profile;
Assisting in preparing and implementing agreements, procedures, policies and guidelines in relation to native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage;
Undertaking native title tenure searches to determine the nature and extent of any extinguishment of native title in respect of Arrow"s petroleum tenure interests;
Assisting in coordinating Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys;
Providing and/or organising legal assistance as and when necessary; and
Working with Arrow"s public relations department to materially expand Arrow"s corporate profile and the benefits provided in any joint relationship held with Indigenous stakeholders involved in the native title and Aboriginal cultural heritage areas.

 
The ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, and have a proven track record and a demonstration of achievement in a similar role. You will require a grass roots appreciation of the need to establish and maintain an appropriate level of interaction with all Indigenous stakeholders. Knowledge of the coal seam gas and/or the liquefied natural gas industry is desirable.
 
Arrow is seeking a self motivated individual with highly developed analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are required, as is the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment under the direction of a supervisor. The successful applicant will need a flexible approach to working hours to meet varying workloads and operational demands.
