POSITION OVERVIEW

Due to our recent growth and continued success, Raytheon Australia now has a requirement for an Avionics Technician to join our team in our Amberley site.
BASIC FUNCTION
Perform faultfinding, repair and functional testing to component level for aircraft avionics equipment including repairable items from F111, Hercules, Caribou and Blackhawk platforms.
Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

Perform maintenance and administrative tasks as directed by team lead to meet production targets;
Ensure no maintenance is performed unless authorised to perform the task by from the Senior Maintenance Manager;
Familiarity with aircraft maintenance regulations to a level commensurate with the position;
Ensure compliance with the approved Maintenance Management System;
Ensure only serviceable and calibrated tools and specialist equipment are used to perform maintenance;
Ensure all airworthiness concerns are reported to the team lead;
Ensure all maintenance is performed using approved and current technical publications, instructions, data and systems;
Ensure safe work practices are followed and observe relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations and procedures;
Maintain FOD control systems;
Provide recommendations for process improvement;
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential:

Qualified to work on State Aircraft Equipment IAW RAAF Engineering Specification T5022
Able to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision
Well organised, customer focused with the ability to follow technical instructions
Completion of relevant training to be eligible to hold appropriate task authorisations and understand aircraft airworthiness requirements
Effective verbal and written communication
Desirable:

Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Aircraft Mechanic - Avionics)
Broad experience in workshop Aircraft / Avionics Maintenance
Familiarity with RAAF technical and logistics activities
Successful applicants will be assessed on their organisational suitability to work in a security environment. Security clearance may be required.
