The Australian operation of this AAA rated world-wide financial services and insurance group is experiencing solid organic growth and is looking to add a Senior Financial Accountant to the head office finance team.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and supervising one support staff, you will work closely with the management of various business units of the insurance and life insurance side of the group.
Your prime responsibility will be to prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the business unit managers and for the overseas parent company. Other equally important duties will include:-
taking ownership of the general ledger and determining accruals and account reconciliations.
assisting with the preparation of quarterly and financial reports for regulators.
completing taxation and other statutory returns.
fixed asset accounting and control.
providing financial analysis support to various divisions as well as other ad hoc tasks.
You will be CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 4 years experience in financial accounting with insurance industry exposure being highly desirable. You will have made proficient use of general ledger systems (Accpac and SAP) with good excel and database skills.
This role will suit a motivated self starter with excellent communication skills with the ability to focus on accuracy and timely management of the periodic accounting cycles. Excellent problem solving ability and a solid grasp presenting financial information is an important part of this high profile opportunity.
