Work in a forest environment conducting surveys of flora and fauna
Build your skills in research design and data collection
You will work in the montane ash forests of the Central Highlands in Victoria, conducting field work and other activities for a long-term biodiversity research program that has operated since 1983. You will build on extensive data sets relating to arboreal mammals, birds, living trees, stag trees, carbon, and other elements of the forest. You will also be involved in managing and analysing the resulting data, and contribute to publications.
Applications are invited from individuals who love to be in the field conducting biodiversity surveys, and who can manage day to day aspects of field research such as liaising with land management agencies, and data entry and curation. The successful candidate will be proactive and interested in sharing knowledge with project partners and the community.

The Biodiversity Field Officer reports to Professor David Lindenmayer, and will work closely with project staff within the university and in regional locations, along with external partners in government land management agencies.
