No. RB2026 --> Job Title ASSISTANT WINEMAKER Company Wine Industry Appointments Job description Our client, Zilzie Wines is one of the success stories of the Australian wine industry. This family owned and operated winery has made outstanding progress from humble beginnings to move into the top 10 Australian wine producers by volume, with a crush capacity of ~ 40,000 tonnes. Reporting to the Senior Winemaker - Production, an outstanding opportunity exists for an Assistant Winemaker with 1+ vintage experience, preferably in a medium-large winery to join this successful winemaking team. The focus of this role is on winery operations and improvement in procedures. You will assist the Senior Winemaker\\\\\\\"s through the vintage period in the management of the winemaking process stream and with close coordination with other departments. Your goal as part of the winemaking team will be to assisting in achieving optimum utilisation of winemaking facilities and to achieve safe and hygienic operation of plant and equipment. Under direction of the Senior Winemaker - Production you will: * Monitor fruit receival, additions and pressing decisions * Generation of cellar work notes as required/requested * Assist Cellar Supervisors and Press Team Leaders with production flow issues * Coordinate fining trials and report/record results * Monitor the yeast propagation program and train Technical Assistants * Coordinate white and red fermentation management and all fermentation record keeping * Assist with production trial programs as requested * Assist Production Administration to manage all record keeping and troubleshoot any discrepancies * Pre and post vintage planning requirements * Other duties as prescribed. The ideal candidate will have: * Degree in Oenology or completion of 3rd year level as a minimum. * Computer skills, particularly with Microsoft word, excel and EZY Wine. * Ability to work in a team environment.
