Position overview
The ANU College of Science (CoS) comprises: the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, the Research School of Biology, the Research School of Chemistry, the Research School of Earth Science, the Fenner School of Environment and Society, the Mathematical Sciences Institute, the Research School of Physics and Engineering, and the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science.  Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and delivers a research-led education program that encompasses the entire breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.  The College has a strong tradition of research excellence that has fostered distinguished Nobel Laureates and Kyoto Prize winners and that trains scientific leaders in disciplines in which the ANU is consistently ranked in the top twenty in the world.
The Research Officer will learn how to measure gas exchange, collect and analyze data and provide administrative support including diary maintenance, travel and meeting coordination. Administration duties will make up approximately 25% of the job with the remainder being Research focused. The Research Officer position is based within the Farquhar Lab at ANU, reporting directly to Distinguished Professor Graham Farquhar. The Research Officer will work as part of a team as well as work collaboratively with internal and with external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
The position is ideally full-time; however part-time would be considered for the ideal applicant. The position is a Continuing Contingent Funded (CCF) appointment with funding confirmed until 2021, and my be extendable pending further funding availability. A Degree or demonstrated experience in plant physiology is preferred but training in other areas of biology, physics, chemistry etc is relevant.
