Ref. 21387 Language Sciences - We seek someone who has made a significant contribution to the discipline of audiology at the international level. It is essential for the person to have experience in quantitative research investigating the disruptions to auditory processing in children and the consequences of this for language and reading. The person would be part of a research team in identifying the impact of deficits in the processing of timing cues in children with auditory processing disorder and auditory neuropathy. Essential skills include those used to investigate the magnitude of disruption to auditory processing in language development and reading development, as well as research experience in electrophysiological assessment of the auditory system and paediatric audiological testing. Other essential criteria include experience using behavioural techniques in the assessment of language in children, as well as an understanding of auditory plasticity.
