Senior Lecturer Paediatric Gastroenterologist

Located within the Nepean Clinical School at Nepean Hospital



Part-time continuing role 0.2 FTE, remuneration package $150k - $173k p.a. pro rata which includes leave loading and up to 17% superannuation



About the opportunity 
We are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, we are looking for a Senior Lecturer to join The University of Sydney, Nepean Clinical School.
 
We are looking for a senior academic who is passionate and committed to teaching and research in paediatric gastroenterology. The position offers opportunities to develop and contribute to research and education within the Nepean Hospital promoting evidence based paediatric practice and patient care by:
 

establishing and coordinating the academic component of paediatric gastroenterology services at Nepean Hospital
sharing responsibility for education of medical students of the Nepean Clinical School, role includes tutorials, lectures, assessing cases, live examining, mentoring
undertaking and providing direction in the completion of original, innovative and distinguished research within the field of paediatric gastroenterological research
sourcing and providing oversight of student MD research projects
being involved in teaching including curriculum development and implementation.

 
The position will be part time at 0.2 FTE with flexibility regarding when these hours are worked.
 
About you

fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or other specialist recognition as provided for under the Health Insurance Act 1973
considerable experience and expertise in clinical and experimental paediatric gastroenterology with proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or book chapters
commitment to teaching and demonstrated ability to participate in research activities
experience in administrative and committee duties
enrolment in or completed relevant higher degree
ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary research or educational team
proven capacity to develop partnerships and collaborate successfully with a range of stakeholders
