FOREMAN - Earthworks - Are you looking for the Next Big Link to your Career? Brisbane ’s first cross river tunnel is rapidly taking shape, with more than 1 km of tunnel excavated at Kangaroo Point and major excavation underway at Bowen Hills. At this site, our four storey, 2 German Tunnel Boring machines have started carving out the rock under the exhibition grounds. Excavation on the North South Bypass Tunnel is ahead of the schedule and all the surface, structures and tunneling sites are extremely busy. With construction scheduled for completion late 2009, this exciting project offers long-term security, stability, variety and exceptional career opportunities. You’ll work for the LBB JV, a joint venture of ’s biggest construction players - Leighton Contractors, Baulderstone Hornibrook and Bilfinger Berger. The NSBT Project is seeking a number of experienced Structures, Road works and Earthworks Foremen to manage and coordinate the Southern Surface works for the project. The positions will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing and controlling the construction activities in line with Construction schedules. Earth works Foreman Reporting into the General Foreman, the Earthworks Foremen will manage resources to achieve time, quality, productivity and safety objectives as well as efficient allocation of materials, supplies and labour. You will lead by example and be responsible for dealing with subcontractors, consultants and the client in conjunction with the Project and Site Engineers. To be considered for these positions previous experience within a Top Tier or Mid Tier Civil Contractor would be a prerequisite. You will have excellent knowledge of heavy earthmoving plant and equipment and associated logistical activities, possess excellent communication skills, have managed large teams of both Subcontract and direct labour, a knowledge and adherence to safety, quality and environmental procedures and possess an in-depth knowledge of civil works as well as strong references. Experience in bulk earthworks and large scale logistics/coordination of works on large civil projects would be highly considered. These ‘Big Link’ positions are based in Brisbane .
