About the Position Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will lead the design, verification and validation of major rolling stock system upgrades. You will effectively manage supplier design and installation from contract award through to First of Type approval on Metro Trains’ existing fleets.
Some of the duties and responsibilities include:
Providing technical leadership and direction across projects
Defining scope of works and technical specifications that enable successful system integration of new systems into existing rolling stock across electrical, mechanical and software interfaces
Design, develop, validate, install and test new train systems
Lead, guide and coordinate internal and external engineering resources, including supervision of contractors and consultants
Sustain key stakeholder communication throughout the duration of each project
Continually monitor progress and identify potential risks before they become issues
Assist the transition of projects into fleet rollout by the dedicated delivery team
This is an excellent opportunity to be an integral part of Metros’ strategic projects. About YouTo be a successful applicant for this position, you must have prior experience in a similar project engineering role. A background in Systems, Electronic, or Electrical Engineering is highly desirable. A sound understanding of Rolling Stock Standards and/or rolling stock upgrades is preferred.
You will have well-developed analytical and problem solving skills and take pride in your ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the business and supplier organisations, both written and verbal.
