You will be joining an organisation that is known as a global leader in its field but also prides itself on being dynamic, embracing new technologies and focused on customer service.  The role: To manage fault centre staff across Metro’s Electrol, Signals and Track and Structures areas, manage / oversee rosters, attendance, overtime, sick days, holidays of staff etc and to oversee the daily Infrastructure fault management across the network to ensure faults are dealt with in a timely manner, correct resources are despatched, communications and reporting of faults is accurate and in a timely manner. Key responsibilities: 

Support fault centre staff to ensure faults are managed effectively to ensure faults are attended / rectified in a timely manner to ensure the impact to the network is minimised.
Appraise requirements and make recommendations in respect to work methods and techniques
Conduct general failure analysis and in depth investigations of the signalling systems and equipment and provide support to the other groups within the department
Conduct reviews of technical and system procedures when required
Contribute to the management team in the development and effectiveness of strategies to meet the requirements for a safe and reliable signalling infrastructure
Investigate and monitor signal reliability and operational issues as referred from maintenance or operations
Maintain circuit plans, maintenance manuals and instructions held by the Group
Manage and oversee the Signal sections Fault Centre, Electrol, Track and Structures  and other computer systems
Monitor and control the allocated budget and action any variations
Operate under emergency and/or demanding situations and take charge of resources, investigations and rectification’s pending arrival of the Maintenance SMTs or another Senior staff as required
Plan the staff resource for the Group and liaise with staff from other maintenance sections and external bodies
Prepare and forward incident, technical and administration reports
Represent the department at the Metrol / Infrastructure Failure Review meeting

 Qualification, skills and experience: 

Management/Operational experience
Tertiary degree - desirable
Rail Industry experience - desirable
Completion of supervisory skills course
