The ANU College of Science (CoS) comprises: the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, the Research School of Biology, the Research School of Chemistry, the Research School of Earth Science, the Fenner School of Environment and Society, the Mathematical Sciences Institute, the Research School of Physics and Engineering, and the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and delivers a research-led education program that encompasses the entire breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities. The College has a strong tradition of research excellence that has fostered distinguished Nobel Laureates and Kyoto Prize winners and that trains scientific leaders in disciplines in which the ANU is consistently ranked in the top twenty in the world.
Australian Mountain Research Facility brings together leading institutions and researchers across 4 states/territories to produce world-leading ecosystem, evolutionary and biophysical science to guide adaptive management of High Mountains across Australia. Australia"s iconic high mountains provide critical water supply, clean energy, unique biodiversity, recreation and education opportunities. They face an ecological crisis from climate and land use change. The Facility will support research to assess the extent and effects of changing climate, water and fire regimes on ecosystem processes and their feedbacks and provide a structure for integrated research, management and governance of Australia"s mountains.
The Australian Mountain Research Facility seeks an expert research technician to ensure continuity and standardisation of the installations across four states and territories. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world class collaborative team. We seek applicants interested to provide expert technical assessment and support in the design and general maintenance of specialised equipment to support research outcomes ensuring it is well maintained, fit for purpose and stored correctly. This position could suit applicants with a range of research, technical, engineering or operational experience.
