The Australian National University, one of the world"s leading research universities, has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, customer serviced focused finance professional to work within the University"s Finance and Business Services Division.
The Senior Financial Accountant in collaboration with the Finance Manager is responsible for delivering timely, effective and high quality financial management and statutory reporting services to the University’s Colleges and Portfolio and Administrative business units. They are responsive to relevant University stakeholders and collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance & Financial Reporting teams of F&BS to lead, develop and implement financial processes, strategies and initiatives across the University.
Your relevant tertiary qualifications (CA, CPA) and experience applying contemporary financial management practices and analytical and problem solving skills will be complimented by excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a leadership role within the Corporate Finance and Financial Reporting team within the Finance and Business Services Division (F&BS). The Senior Financial Accountant works with finance and management teams across the university and works within the team which is responsible for the delivery of high quality, informative, accurate and timely financial reporting to external funding bodies in respect of grants received by the University.
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a significant role in the training and implementation of financial policies and processes, ensuring that all stakeholders are educated on the reporting and compliance requirements of funding received from external funding bodies. The position represents the Finance and Business Services Division in University - wide initiatives on research related financial matters and reporting. The Senior Financial Accountant builds and maintains professional relationships across campus and works in close collaboration with colleagues in the Corporate Finance and Financial Reporting team and also Finance and Research Services professionals across campus.
F&BS supports the University"s strategic and operational goals through the provision of professional corporate financial management and administration, reporting and effective business services, F&BS has strong linkages to finance professionals.
