You will be joining an organisation that is known as a global leader in its field but also prides itself on being dynamic, progressive and providing real work/life balance to their employees.Position Purpose:The purpose of the Cloud Architect role is to ensure cloud solutions meet business needs while adhering to EA strategies, processes, guidelines, security best practice and business goals. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for estimating the whole of lifecycle costs. The role is also responsible for creating all architecture artefacts relating to cloud solutions, any dependencies and implementation governance. The scope of the role also includes evaluation of future cloud technologies to enable business agility, asset management improvements, data quality improvements, system efficiency, risk reduction and cost saving. This individual will maintain an up to date skill set and provide technical consulting for the associated domains of knowledge and assist with creation and maintenance of the Cloud Strategy and associated roadmaps. Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide Enterprise Architect (EA) decision making 
Engage with technical presales activities including the delivery of Feasibility Studies, Project Brief, Business Requirements Documents (BRD) and Order of Magnitude Estimations (OOM) 
Deliver High Level Designs (HLDs), Total Costs Estimation (TCE), Bill of Material (BoM), Detail Level Design (DLDs), messaging contracts, Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs) associated with the assigned solution
Provide guidance and governance on vendor generated design documentation ensuring compliance with OCMS (Operational Control and Management Systems)
Manage vendors as part of scoping and procurement processes 
Provide timely and concise input into project documentation, including project schedules, project operational requirement, scope statement project impact statement artefacts
Participate in cybersecurity governance and assessment processes including, Security Risk Assessments (SRA), Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF) assessments
Perform governance duties, such as reviewing As-Built documentation and work instructions, to ensure compliance with strategy documentation, OCMS Renewal Principles, HLD, DLD and messaging contracts 
Provide guidance and advice to stakeholders regarding disruptive technologies and trends, to formulate strategies in alignment with business plans
Maintain an in-depth technical knowledge aligned with the existing and future technology asset portfolio
Ensure appropriate architecture gates and practices are integrated into all relevant processes 
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in accordance with MR4 contract requirements
Demonstrate the business value of technology as an enabler
Formulate, translate, advocate, support and execute technology strategy to achieve MTM"s targeted business outcomes
Work with peers and business stakeholders, to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps. This will facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise
Analyse the IT and Control Systems environments to detect critical deficiencies and provide remediation plans
Audit and report on the compliance of operational systems against certified designs and standards
Certify SOE assets, which include but are not limited to, networking equipment, security infrastructure, server infrastructure, software components, storage infrastructure, client devices, desktop infrastructure, database systems, monitoring systems, reporting systems and cloud services
Provide architectural consulting expertise, direction and assistance to business representatives, key stakeholders, external vendors and OCMS personnel 
Identify and provide mitigation plan inputs for both technical and execution risks
Identify organisational requirements for the resources, structures and cultural changes necessary to support the EA 


Master"s or Bachelor"s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience 
5 or more years of experience in at least two disciplines:
Cloud Architecture (including AWS and Azure)
Systems Engineering
Solutions Architecture / Infrastructure Architecture
Network Architecture 
Security Architecture
Application Development / Application Architecture
Experience in creating effective partnerships to deliver architectural outcomes
Knowledge of business, operating and financial models, as well as cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management 
Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management
Fluency with infrastructure and operations, EA and ITIL frameworks 
Awareness of asset management frameworks and ISO standards (ISO 55000-55001)
Expertise with cybersecurity ISO standards (270001) and frameworks (VPDSF)
Knowledge of business ecosystems, Software as a Service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, micro-services, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
In-depth technical knowledge of: desktop, server, security and storage infrastructure; software components; client devices; systems and protocols relating to networking, databases, monitoring and reporting; cloud providers; cloud services 
Exposure and understanding of mission critical, real time computing and control systems
Experience and knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies as well as processing environments
Experience with automation practices and technologies 
Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
Adept at influencing outcomes outside of one’s direct control
Ability to deliver pragmatic outcomes for the business based on sound architecture principals
