The Operational Safety team have a unique opportunity for an SER expert.
The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the divisional Safety Management and SER Improvement Plans by advising and coordinating operational managers, teams and peers. The SER Coordinator will develop action plans based on risk assessment and performance data, cultural improvement targets and business constraints and considerations. The SER Coordinator will champion SER with leadership and communication skills, a firm grasp of Risk Management principles & practices and working knowledge of legal and systems compliance requirements.
As part of the Station operations leadership team, this position is responsible for providing specialist technical and professional advice for all aspects of occupational health and safety, environment and risk.
The SER Coordinator is accountable for the comprehensive management of occupational health & safety, environmental issues and risk management.
You will engage broadly within Station operations and across Metro Trains to determine priorities, improvement plans and how to manage risk within the Metro Trains framework of organisational policies and external requirements.
You will pro-actively contribute to safety improvements by engaging all levels of Metro Trains to deliver a safer environment for Train Services staff.
To be considered, you will have qualifications in internal audit, OHS, lead investigator, and hold a tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Risk Management.
In addition you will have a sound knowledge of Emergency Management, Crisis Management Plans, the Transport Safety Act, Rail Safety Management Standard and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
