As the Manager within Enterprise Assurance you will be responsible for providing control specialist guidance, support and assisting the business execute their risk management accountabilities.
The role is critical in providing services across the Enterprise supporting the execution of risk management accountabilities, business improvement and change opportunities specific to AML related controls. The activities performed by the Manager, are directed and agreed with the Head of Enterprise Assurance – Controls.
As an AML Specialist, some of your accountabilities will include the below:
Leading a team of Senior Consultants and Consultants in assessing Design and Operating Assessements of key and non-key controls to support AML/CTF obligations;
Role will require deep knowledge within Product (including channel), Customer and/or Operational that relate to AML/CTF Compliance to support control design and operating assessments.
As AML/CTF subject matter expert provide recommendations and agree tangible actions to uplift business processes to ensure controls are translated into practice.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Program manage the annual portfolio of concurrent reviews within agreed resource and time budgets, including sequencing and interaction with resourcing.
Coordinate development and maintenance of the team’s annual plan.
Take ownership and drive bespoke pieces of work to look at end to end process and control design across a variety of businesses
Support the DE and OE assessments where AML controls are impacted by change/new controls created etc.
Complete initial assessment of the control documentation & control design Assessment previously completed to ensure control is test ready
Provide recommended actions to address control deficiencies identified & record agreed actions.
Proactively identify, drive and support continuous improvement and evolution of the nab controls assurance processes and toolsets
Proactively participate in Assurance@nab communities of practice, for example allocated end to end value chain and Division.
Provide ongoing performance feedback and career coaching. Promote a performance and development culture.
Skills and Experience:
Strong AML Specific control assurance experience
Clear understanding of the three lines of defence model, risk management and assurance
Strong Assurance and/or Risk management experience in a large banking organisation or a large accounting firm
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, build relationships and influence stakeholders at senior levels
Audit/Assurance experience, including formal Audit training.
Knowledge of Audit practices, standards and methodology.
Extensive experience in AML and/or risk management type roles
Tertiary qualifications in AML (such as ACAMS, ICA etc.), Risk Management, CA, CPA and other relevant courses will be highly regarded or equivalent business experience.
People leadership experience will be strongly regarded.
Likely to have indicative experience in either the Chartered Accounting or Internal Audit environment with specific exposure to the Finance and Banking Industry.
