Airservices is a government owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers, and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace. Airservices has two major operating centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and a corporate office in Canberra. We operate 29 air traffic control towers and provides aviation rescue firefighting services at 26 Australian airports.
The Role
This position supports the delivery of the Air Traffic Services [ATS] by providing a high level of administration support to Line Managers, Supervisors and Air Traffic Controllers.  This support is provided to Southern Operations comprising the Melbourne Operations Room and Southern Operations Control Towers.
This is a unique role in a highly technical 24/7 work environment where administrative and operational matters are constantly inter-dependent. This role is a shift working position as a member of a small team covering 7 day per week, 365 days a year, currently between the hours of 0600-2100.
The Person
The successful applicants will have a high level of interpersonal skills as liaising with ATS staff, stakeholders and other members relevant to the operational environment is an everyday task. You will be able to confidently self-manage your workload in a busy environment, prioritising critical tasks and ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
Strong organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, and meet externally dictated deadlines which may directly impact service delivery.
Proven ability and confidence to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies through reviewing reports and/or work practices and raise these with team members and/or supervisors as appropriate.
Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and judgement in consideration of sensitive situations and provide quality output.
Demonstrated ability to correctly interpret and apply standards, procedures and regulations in regards rostering and staff replacement.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with highly effective time and self- management skills to establish, review and meet deadlines, whilst ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Undertake tasks in a professional and friendly manner, and maintain a task focus in a complex work environment.
