HCF Life Senior Life Claims Assessor

Location: Sydney CBD
As a Senior Claims Assessor, you play an integral role within the HCF Life Insurance team. The primary purpose of the role being to assess and manage all claims with a particular focus on complex living benefit claims drawing on demonstrated technical and industry knowledge. Responsibilities of this role include:
Follow and support processes and guidelines to efficiently manage the HCF Life Claims process and support the HCF Life claims philosophy.
Provide mentoring and support to your team members as required.
Support a culture of continuous process improvement.
Understand and comply with the external operating and regulatory environment.
Mentor and support junior Life claims and administration staff:
Build technical and professional skills to continually grow contribution to the Life Claims team.
Comply with WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices
To be successful in this role you will ideally demonstrate the following:
Significant claims assessment experience in financial service
Demonstrated ability to understand and analyse an individual"s financial information in relation to Income Protection claim assessments.
Previous experience in coaching and mentoring others in the claims environment.
Flexibility and commitment to providing high quality claims management and customer service to HCF members.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to recognise trends in the Life insurance industry particularly in relation to claims trends and experience.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
